An extra-inning home run won the first game and a walk-off home run decided the second game, as Willamette University and Menlo College each recorded a victory on Sunday, Feb. 17 at Cartan Field. Willamette won the continuation of Saturday’s suspended game, 9-7, in 11 innings. Menlo won the regularly scheduled game that followed, 14-11.Willamette scored the winning runs in the first game on a two-out, two-run homer by Kyle Stalker (Jr., 1B, Bellevue, WA/Sammamish HS) in the top of the second extra inning. Doug Bloom (Fr., SS, Salem, OR/South Salem, HS), who singled immediately prior to Stalker’s at bat, also scored on the play. The decisive runs were scored in the first inning played on Sunday, after the game was suspended due to darkness at the end of 10 innings on Saturday.

Clint Moran (Sr., LHP, Mission Viejo, CA/Capistrano Valley HS) of Willamette gave up a single to start the bottom of the 11th, but forced Menlo into a double play followed by a ground out to record a save. Jack McGee (Jr., P/3B, Hillsborough, CA/St. Ignatius HS) earned the win for Willamette after throwing 2 1/3 innings, with one run allowed, no hits and two strikeouts.

In the second game, WU rallied with five runs in the eighth inning to take an 11-10 lead. Menlo tied the score with a run in the bottom of the eighth, then won the game with a two-out, three-run homer by Robert McDonald in the bottom of the ninth. McDonald was 2 for 4 with two walks during the game.

On Saturday, Willamette lost the first game of the series, 20-5. The Bearcats never trailed in the second game, which ultimately was suspended. The Bearcats scored five runs in the first four innings to build a 5-1 lead, but were later tied by the Oaks, 6-6, after Menlo plated three runs in the eighth inning. Each team scored once in the 10th stanza, before the sky was too dark to continue the action.

The Bearcats concluded the suspended game with nine hits, including four home runs and a triple. Stalker finished with two homers and WU also received long balls from Jake Atwell-Scrivner (Jr., SS, Bellevue, WA/Newport HS) and Colin Young (Sr., RF, Portland, OR/Lincoln HS).

Atwell-Scrivner’s homer was hit down the left field line and was recorded just one batter into the game. The leadoff hitter, senior center fielder Sean Anderson (Klamath Falls, OR/Klamath Union HS), singled through the left side of the infield, then scored on Scrivner’s blast. Menlo tallied one run in the bottom of the inning.

The first homer for Stalker was in the third inning. Anderson tripled to center field with one out, and Atwell-Scrivner was put out on a grounder. Stalker batted next and sent the ball over the right field fence to give Willamette a 4-1 lead. Young tacked on a homer to right center to open the fifth inning, as WU increased its advantage to four runs.

Menlo scored twice in the bottom of the fourth inning and the ‘Cats plated one run in the seventh, leaving Willamette with a 6-3 lead. The Oaks tied the game in the eighth with three runs on one hit and two errors. Chris Budelli drove in two runs with a single and the third run scored on an error.

Willamette edged back in front in the top of the 10th. Bloom was hit by a pitch to begin the inning, then stole second base. Stalker struck out, but Bloom stole third. He scored with two outs, when Young hit into an error by second baseman Will McLoughlin. The Bearcats loaded the bases, but Menlo relief pitcher Sam Minsu Chang recorded a strikeout to end the threat.

In the bottom of the 10th, Menlo scored an unearned run. Pinch-hitter Kyle Wilkerson batted for Chang and reached base on an infield error. Joe Hull ran for Wilkerson, was sacrificed to second by Ricky Grech, and moved to thrid on a ground out by Matt Simpson. Hull scored the tying run on a wild pitch. Matt Medina grounded out to end Saturday’s portion of the game.

Stalker was 2 for 6 in the 11-inning game, with two runs and four RBIs. Anderson finished 2 for 6 and scored three times. Atwell-Scrivner was 2 for 4 with a run and three RBIs. Budelli led Menlo with a 3-for-5 performance, two runs and four RBIs.

Sunday’s scheduled game featured 25 runs and 28 hits. The Oaks pounded out 15 hits during the game, while the Bearcats achieved 13 hits.

WU struck early, scoring four times in the first inning. Anderson singled and stole second to begin the game, then scored when Bloom reached on an error by McDonald at third base.

The error proved even more costly, as the next two batters were put out on pop-ups, but six additional batters went to the plate. Young drove in the second run on a single down the right field line and Stephen Lane (So., C, Rowland Heights, CA/Rowland Heights HS) brought home the next two runs with a single up the middle.

With one out in the top of the second inning, Stalker singled and T.C. Lee (Fr., LF, Lafayette, CA/Acalanes HS) powered a homer to left center for a 6-0 Willamette lead. Menlo countered with four runs in the bottom of the second, which featured an RBI double by Brennen Facchini and a two-RBI double by Budelli. The Oaks cut the lead to a single run when Rob Monderine scored on a sacrifice fly by Medina.

In the sixth inning, Menlo tied the game when Medina walked, stole second, went to third on a single by McLoughlin, then scored on a double steal. The Oaks surged out to a 10-6 lead in the seventh, as four runners crossed the plate. Three of the runs scored on a double by Budelli.

Willamette responded with a lengthy inning of its own in the top of the eighth. The Bearcats scored five times, with Andrew Ross (So., DH, Petaluma, CA/Petaluma HS) driving in two runs on a triple down the right field line. Young and McGee also registered RBIs during the inning.

Pinch-hitter Nick Von Sonn walked to start the bottom of the eighth. One out later, Dwayne Haakma ran for Von Sonn. He stole second base, then scored on a single by William Sikes, as the Oaks tied the game at 11-11. The three-run homer by McDonald one inning later ended the game.

McDonald was 2 for 4 in the game and also walked twice. McLoughlin finished 4 for 6 and scored three runs for Meno. Budelli went 3 for 6 with one run and a game-high five RBIs.

Ross was 3 for 4 with a pair of runs and two RBIs for the Bearcats. Anderson, Young, McGee and Lane each registered two hits, with Young and Lane also driving in two runs.

The Bearcats travel to Orlando, Fla., next weekend for one game each day between Saturday, Feb. 23 and Monday, Feb. 25. Willamette will play St. John Fisher (N.Y.), St. Vincent (Pa.) and Hanover (Ind.).

A level 1 trauma center, the 48 bed AEMC emergency department treated over 76,000 patient visits in 2007. AEMC is one of the first hospitals in the nation to implement an automatic patient and asset tracking system in an emergency department. Originally installed in 2003, the tracking system has tracked over a quarter of a million emergency visits to date and has helped the department to improve patient flow and operational efficiencies as patient volumes have continued to increase.

The tracking software, Amelior EDTracker(R) by Patient Care Technology Systems, was implemented with an infrared based real time locating system from Versus Technology, Inc. Wireless personnel and asset tags identify their real time location to an infrared-based sensory network. Amelior EDTracker receives the real-time location information and applies emergency department workflow process rules to recognize patient care milestones as they occur throughout a patient’s encounter. Together with interfaces to laboratory and radiology department systems, the software helps caregivers to track the status of their patients without having to manually update information. An integrated reporting module provides extensive historical information on patient flow for further optimization of department efficiency.

Valencia and Mission Viejo did battle for the second time this season Saturday, but unlike in December, the Viking girls basketball team couldn’t come out on top in a 51-48 loss.
Diablo phenom Kaitlyn Petersen, averaging 20.5 points per game heading into the game, more than showed up for the CIF-Southern Section Division I-A first-round tussle with the Vikings.

The 5-foot-8 junior guard doubled her output from the previous matchup, pouring in 28 points, including what proved to be the game-winning floater with less than 30 seconds to play.

After trailing for nearly every second of the game, the Diablos found a chance to crawl back on top with 55 seconds remaining.

Trailing by four, they knocked down a jumper, and proceeded to foul Viking senior Molly Herrera, who made one of two from the charity stripe.

With the Viking lead reduced to three, Mission Viejo again quickly scored, fouling seconds after. After two Valencia misses, Petersen dribbled her way down the court, finding the open runner in the lane to give the Diablos their most important lead of the game.

The Vikings turned the ball over on their next possession, but a quick foul still gave them a chance to tie the game, trailing 51-48 with 7.3 seconds left. Hastigan had a near-open look for a fall-away three from the right side, but it rimmed out to simultaneously end the game and the Vikings’ season.

“I can’t really feel bad about how we played,” said Vikings head coach Jerry Mike. “I thought we competed hard, so I’ve got to give them credit for pulling it out.”

Valencia junior forward Starla Wright led the way with 18 points and 14 boards for the Vikings, and Chelsea Hastigan, a senior, added six points and six assists.

“She definitely took it hard,” Mike said of his three-year varsity starter Hastigan. “She’s done a lot for the program. She will definitely be missed.”

The Vikings end the season 18-10 overall.

Mission Viejo Mall – A Shopping Experience

Shopping and fun are two words which are almost inseparable when we speak about Mission Viejo Mall. At a time when malls are prevalent all over the country and the world, what is it that makes shopping at Mission Viejo Mall a different shopping experience. People who frequent the mall agree that the best thing they prefer about Mission Viejo Mall is that it is very nice and practical.

Mission Viejo Mall has quite been a revolution of sorts for the small city of Mission Viejo located in the Saddleback Valley in southern Orange County of California. With population of almost less than a million, the otherwise suburban city is full of life and the people are more than willing to enjoy life as any other residents of a large city would do.

There are people who have been visiting the mall since they were a child. And they say that in the the last 30 years, the look, trading and the shops at Mission Viejo Mall has gone for a complete makeover. It has transitioned from a dark and dreary place with small stores to marble-floored, sky-lit mall lined up with the best fashion and essential shops. This makes Mission Viejo Shopping really an experience in itself.
The maximum population of the planned city of Mission Viejo lives in single-family homes and a few in condominiums. While there are very few options for shopping and entertainment in Missiom Vejio unlike other cities in United States, the residents of the city owe a lot to Mission Viejo Mall.
If you ask the shoppers at Mission Viejo Mall what they think is the best part of Mission Viejo shopping, many of them would say that the best thing about this mall is that you have a lot of stores is one spot and all your clothing places run the gamut in price. While some other believe Mission Viejo Mall has better deals to offer than any other Mission Viejo Stores.
Mission Viejo takes pride to have some of the best malls in retailing like South Coast Plaza which is one of the premier shopping centers of the world. It is the hub of more than 270 retailers from all over the world from Gucci, Valentino, Prada, Christian Dior Fendi and Hermès to name a few.
However, the mall which excels in terms of the location, products and deals is Mission Viejo Mall. The benefits of visiting Mission Viejo Mall in lieu of any Mission Viejo Stores is that it offers you the comfort of shopping anything from DVDs to maternity clothes; from belts to camera under a single roof.

Also, its online representation as the Shops of Mission Viejo is quite a success; offering people to reach out from their shopping need with just the click of a mouse sitting in the comforts of their home. Thereby, all in all Mission Viejo Shopping is not just about getting your essential goods home; it is more of a trivia most shopping lovers would like to experience.

Real estate investments have always been a prime priority for people all over the world cutting across all cultural barriers. And, in the present age when real estate is seeing some of the finest moments in the investment sector, Mission Viejo Real Estate is no different.

Mission Viejo Real Estate has always been a favored destination for real estate investors in California or United state in general for the calm and the suburban nature and culture Mission Viejo has to offer. Located in the southern Orange County, in the U.S state of California, Mission Viejo is a small planned city with a population which is close to a million people.

The last few years have seen quite an appreciation in the real estate prices of Mission Viejo Homes. Industry experts opine that besides the countryside suburban life which fascinated the average American residents, the comparatively low crime rate in Mission Viejo has also been lately responsible for attracting investment in Mission Viejo Real Estate.

Another, deciding factor encouraging investments in the city is the availability of infrastructure facilities like schools, colleges, University, hospitals, library and shopping Malls. Mission Viejo Real Estate can boast of having some of the finest amenities that makes Mission Viejo Properties for Sale one of the most lucrative investment propositions.

If you are an ardent sports lover, Mission Viejo is the place where you can definitely make your home. There are several sporting opportunities in the city from soccer field to ballpark for the Orange County’s baseball; and from skateboard parks to golf courses. There several golf courses in Mission Viejo, a few popular like Mission Viejo Country Club, Casta del Sol Golf Course and Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club.

I’m sure many of you must be contemplating buying property overlooking those beautiful lush green golf parks. So, what are you waiting for? Contact any Mission Viejo real estate agent and find out about your desired Mission Viejo Properties for Sale. You must always remember that the chances of getting better returns on a property are to an extent determined by the location.

Therefore, while deciding on investment in Mission Viejo Real Estate, it is always imperative that you choose a location which is forecasted to appreciate a lot in the next few years, and bring you more returns. One of the distinguishing features every investor should keep in mind before buying any Mission Viejo Properties for Sale is that the communities in Mission Viejo usually have private associations for their residents.

Mission Viejo Real Estate is also witnessing a very encouraging period because the usually conservative attitude of Mission Viejo residents to opt for single house are making way to apartments and condominiums, as a way out for the expensive cost of homes in the area. Since, Mission Viejo Real estate is primarily based on residential properties with very few office and commercial structures; analysts indicate that this is the right time to invest in Mission Viejo Homes, as the investment graph has been quite positive in the past decade.

You must have heard, read and seen a lot about the small suburban city of Mission Viejo. Located in the serene environment of the southern Orange County of California, Mission Viejo has much more to offer than just picturesque locales. Today, I’m going to introduce you to a very different and humane face of the city through the Mission Viejo Animal Shelter.

Mission Viejo known for its famous Golf Courses also bears the responsibility of providing shelters for stray animals. Mission Viejo Animal Shelter which is taken care by City of Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is a very humane animal shelter for stray animals, which are kept here, nourished and taken care of; till they are reunited with their owners or are adopted by some kind owner.
Mission Viejo Animal Shelter follows a few regulations in case of stray animals and their adoption program. Stray animals brought to the shelter are kept for a minimum of 4 days awaiting redemption from their owner. Mission Viejo Animal Shelter offers anyone willing to adopt an animal with the adoption program that includes the screening and review of an individual adoption application. This is to ensure responsible and long term homes for the animals in the respective owner’s care.
So, if you are contemplating adopting an animal, and support the mission undertaken by Mission Viejo Animal Shelter; your first step would be to select the breed of dog or cat according to you and your family’s preferences. Since hundreds of thousands of homeless stray animals are rescued and given shelter in Mission Viejo Animal Shelter, it is imperative that you choose the right animal after doing due research on the breed and age you would prefer.
All stray animals that are either rescued or picked up as ‘strayed’ animal are provided quality animal care at Mission Viejo Animal Shelter. The operations and services of Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is available in Mission Viejo and Laguna Niguel. The purpose behind the holding period of 4 days for a stray animal before being handed over for adoption is to give an opportunity to the owners, to search and look out for them in Mission Viejo Animal Shelter.
The services offered by Mission Viejo Animal Shelter includes providing quarantines of animals involved in bites to humans, rabies control, rescue of stray animals followed by adoption of shelter animals to responsible owners.

Mission Viejo Animal Shelter also offers services like protection of public health against contagious, infectious, or communicable animal diseases; enforcement of local and state laws by patrol of public streets and parks to attending emergency calls 24 hours a day. There are opportunities like Animal Licensing, shelter tours and also opportunities for animal lovers above 18 years to offer volunteer services.
Mission Viejo Animal Shelter has also made an honest effort to reach out to the community by providing education on humane animal care, wildlife concerns and shelter operations through Community Outreach Presentations. Besides this, there is Owner Relinquishment Program and popular programs like Annual Dog Walk.
